Founded in 1977, the Southern Public Administration Education Foundation, Inc. (SPAEF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation dedicated to advancing the fields of public administration and public management by fostering and sponsoring research projects, educational programs and professional publications.
SPAEF publishes a number of journals in the fields of public administration and public management. These include:
- Global Virtue Ethics Review
- International Journal of Economic Development
- Journal of Health and Human Services Administration
- Public Administration Quarterly
- Public Finance and Management
SPAEF also houses the archives of two previously published journals that are no longer active. Their content is freely available.
In addition, the Foundation sponsors two national/international trend studies dealing with the demographics, education, and motivation characteristics of public and budgeting administrators.
