Mission Statement
The International Journal of Economic Development (IJED) is a peer reviewed, online, open access journal that promotes high-quality usable research for public administrators and policy analysts in the following areas: development economics, political economy, poverty and inequality, state and local government, environmental policy, sustainable economic development, sustainable economicdevelopment, cultural and political geography, geopolitics, geographical information science, and health care policy.
IJED emphasizes a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to research in economic development issues from both theoretical and applied fields within the tradition of public policy and administration.
IJED offers an academic venue for students, researchers, and practitioners, to analyze and evaluate major policy and managerial issues related to economic development and globalization at all levels of government.
IJED will analyze the causes and effects of systemic inequality with special attention given to structural inequality as it impacts issues of race, ethnicity, gender, social class, and ideology.
IJED focuses on both public sector economic analysis and on private, nonprofit, and nongovernmental organizations.
IJED will publish manuscripts two times a year, in the fall and spring.
